The Optimized Gothic Church

FS 2016 Oh' Lord

As an order, the gothic seems the most stiff and uncompromising—liturgical Gothic architecture even more so. But if one removes the metaphysical ambitions from the gothic liturgy, all of that lofty space isn’t always necessary. This project applies Neufeurt to liturgy, attempting to optimise the dimensions of the Gothic without destroying its image.
